Hello,
My parents grew up in Sioux Falls, they are in their 70s now. They told me about a tall lanky woman they used to call "Highpockets". Evidently, she used to roam the streets downtown.
Does anyone have any more information about her?

There is some information on the 'Greetings From Sioux Falls' site about Highpockets: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=11
If you "Google" her, you will find some additional information. Not a lot is known of her, but apparently her name was Victoria Weeks, and she did come from money.

PS: I do recall her from my youth......a tall thin woman, dressed unusually, who often pushed a grocery cart. I remember seeing her at a variety of places in East Sioux Falls in the 1950's. As kids, we tended to avoid her.
It sounds like your parents are the same vintage as many of the contributors to this forum, including me!
