Phillips Web Cam

I found a cool web cam that shows a live streaming view of Phillips Avenue. The camera goes through a programmed routine, zooming in the Sate Theater marquee, then on intersections I no longer recognize, and different areas of the street mall. Was fun watching from here in Texas during the snowstorm last night.

Thanks for posting the website for the Phillips Avenue webcam. I have enjoyed watching it as well.......from Arizona!

It appears that the webcam is mounted on a light/telephone pole at the corner of 12th and Phillips, in front of the old Post Office, now a Federal Court Building. It generally is looking down Phillips Ave. to the North, where you see the new construction for the latest redesign of Phillips Ave. The webcam occasionally swings to the West, up 12th street where you can see the Pavilion, formerly Washington High School. It also swings to the East, and shows a pedestrian area on 12th street adjacent to the Court Building.

I can't help but wonder if the SF Department of Public Works was left out of the redesign of Phillips Ave. It is going to be difficult to maneuver snow plows around those curbed areas! But then again, maybe it doesn't snow in Sioux Falls anymore! :-)
