Smitty's was the west of the Mississippi version of Perkins until 1976. This one was located at 106 S. Indiana Ave. The owner, Al Kuper ran three of these back in the day. His son still owns and operates the Perkins on 2604 W. 41st St., which began its life as a Smitty's in 1970.
