Here's the other church across the street from the ol' Washington High School (now the Washington Pavilion to you whipper-snappers). The cornerstone was laid May 3, 1925, but the building was not dedicated until November 30, 1930 due to fundraising problems in the tough economic climate of the time. First Lutheran Church is still there at 327 S Dakota as of this afternoon. It's quite a bit bigger now.
